Mainframe DeveloperThis position is responsible for developing new/enhancements to system functionality, providing system maintenance, setting up and supporting running of batch processes and protecting the business by providing support for critical production issues.Key Responsibilities:Design, develop and maintain Mainframe COBOL applications & JCL to meet support business requirementsDevelops applications and provides support on a mainframe environment, using COBOL, DB2, CICS, JCL, IMS, MQ Series and VSAM filesInterface with business and IT teams to understand business requirements and translate business requirements into formal technical requirements and application codeWork with IT support teams (EIA, DA/DBA, server teams) to ensure support and project requirements are developed and successfully implementedDevelop and execute unit test and integration plans/scripts to validate that application changes meet technical specifications.Provide level 1, 24 x 7, support for critical batch application.Essential Job Requirements:Demonstrated experience as a software developer in a mainframe environment, at least 4-6 years of mainframe development experience is desiredExtensive knowledge of mainframe programming (COBOL, CICS, IMS, VSAM, JCL and TSO)Strong system analysis, and problem resolutions skills. Ability to independently analyze program specifications; and write design specifications and code for complex programsAble to perform well in a highly rigorous development environmentHands on working experience in Agile/SCRUM Application development environmentStrong communication skillsKnowledge of card processing will be a plus.
