Mainframe Database Administrator (ADABAS)Remote Location: Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN area preferred (Remote) Duration: 6-12 MonthsKey ResponsibilitiesDatabase Administration: Manage and maintain 60+ ADABAS databases in a large-scale (over 9TB) mainframe environment.System Integration: Support integration with ADABAS Security, ADABAS interface routines, Natural programming language, Natural Security, Entire NetWork, AOS, Review, and SQL Gateway.Performance Management: Monitor, tune, and optimize ADABAS, Natural, Entire NetWork, and SQL Gateway performance.Backup & Recovery: Execute database backup, restore, and recovery procedures.Software Maintenance: Perform upgrades, patches, and routine maintenance across the installed Software AG products.Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve Software AG product or customer usage issues and performance problems.Documentation: Maintain technical documentation and procedures.Required Technical SkillsADABAS Database: Extensive experience with SoftwareAG ADABAS database administrationNatural: Proficiency with Natural programming language, Natural One, and Natural Security administrationMainframe Platform: Knowledge of IBM z/OS operating system and client software such as TPX, TSO and batch JCLRelated Products: Experience installing and supporting ADABAS Security, Entire NetWork, SQL Gateway, AOS, Review, CICS InterfaceOn-call support requiredAdditional Technical Skills – Working knowledge or recent experience with the following would be a plus:ServiceNow or similar ITSM / change and incident management toolsCA Broadcom mainframe tool suite, including Vantage, View, TPX, JCL Check, Sysview, and NetMasterCICS and related client software, including IntercomSQL and PL/I, and programming language (reading and basic maintenance)Assembler language (exposure or diagnostic-level experience)Work EnvironmentInfrastructure: Work with IBM z15 systems, multiple LPARs, and enterprise-class storage systems
