Machinist Assistant/KitterThe Machinist Assistant/Kitter position will be responsible for assembling toolboxes for the manufacturing floor according to kitting procedures.Shifts Available: 1st Shift Monday - Thursday 5:00am - 3:00pmResponsibilitiesMachinist Assistant/Kitter Duties and ResponsibilitiesAssemble tooling boxes and all paperwork for jobs running on the manufacturing floorManage the Kitting process: part programs, set up sheets, records, and inventoryAssemble tooling boxes per the set-up sheetUpdate documentation throughout the process- including before, during, and after the job is completedInspect tools, new and returned, using a microscope and other inspection equipmentResponsible for inventory of tools and resolving shortage issues and discrepanciesMaintain daily logs and reports necessary to the kitting procedureMaintain safe and clean working environmentCommunicate with the tool crib, leadership, and production regarding kitting needs and the availability of tools and materialsSupport and comply with the company Quality System, ISO, and medical device requirementsRead, understand, and follow work instructions and standard workPartner with other business segments: sales/marketing, customer service, engineering, quality, and financeUnderstand customer needs and the core business markets we serveEnsure business systems are implemented, maintained, and functioning properlyParticipate in required company meetingsMaintain an organized work area (5S)Participate in the Operational Excellence ProgramComplete all other work duties as assignedAbility to work in a manufacturing environmentQualificationsMachinist Assistant/Kitter Position RequirementsHigh School Diploma or equivalent1 year of experience in a manufacturing environmentUnderstand the production operations and equipmentKnowledge of toolsThe ability to read and understand blueprintsMachinist Assistant/Kitter Preferred Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesMechanical AptitudeCompany BenefitsAs a Cretex Medical company, rms offers a full benefit package to its employees.
