Machine Operator I

The Company offers a wide range of critical components and engineered solutions that connect, protect, and purify our world.Under general supervision, the Machine Operator I provides necessary support to the production teams, assists machine operators with assigned tasks, maintains materials and supplies, tracks inventories, and packages finished products. The position reports to the leader on any work status updates.Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Reads and interprets production paperworkSets up assigned machine for productionSets up, maintains and performs changeovers on extrusion lineAudits material consumption and loadingEnters all production data into the Enterprise Readiness Planning (ERP) systemInspects and prepares customer samples as requiredConducts tooling changes or machine adjustmentsRecommends improvements to production methods, equipment performance, and quality of productAttends shift and safety meetings when requiredAssists all operators and coworkers to meet organizational key performance indicatorsPerforms duties of Utility and Machine OperatorQualifications:Ability to communicate effectivelyAbility to apply common sense understandingAbility to multi-task and demonstrate strong time management skillsAbility to read and comprehend complex instructionsAbility to travel between facilitiesAbility to work overtime if requiredAbility to use a computerAbility to perform mathematical calculationsPreferred: High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)Associate degree from a technical school1-3 years' experience with dies and extrudersPhysical Demands:Be able to lift a minimum of 50 poundsBe able to push or pull heavy objects with mechanical assistanceBe able to work 12 hours shiftsPerform repetitive tasksRoutinely stand, sit, hear, walk, and talkReach, climb, bend, kneel, crouch, twist and balance; sometimes in awkward or tight spacesHave good close vision, depth perception, and the ability to focusMeet Mativ certification requirements to operate Power Industrial TrucksPPE Requirements:Safety shoes (steel toe or composite toe)Safety GlassesBump CapsProtective GlovesHearing Protection; when requiredOther personal protective equipment as required for certain tasksWork Environment:Manufacturing environmentAir Temperatures can range from cold to hotAtmosphere may contain dust, fumes, and odorsMay include mechanical, electrical, chemical hazardsAt Mativ, our benefits reflect how much we value and care for each other.
