LPN Position at Jessie Trice Community Health System

Jessie Trice Community Health System, in partnership with Miami Dade Public Schools and The Children's Trust are seeking to hire full-time talented, hard-working and customer service friendly LPNs (Licensed Practical Nurse) to join our inter-disciplinary team. Individuals will provide services to students in our elementary, K-8 centers, middle and high schools.

Summary of Responsibilities:

Provides technical and administrative support, non-clerical and clerical health care assistance, and health screenings, including vision, and other age-appropriate screenings as part of School-Based Program Team which includes a nurse, social worker, administrative assistant and community health worker. LPN will provide the following:

  • Provide direct care to patients, triage, take vital signs and provide medication treatment.
  • First Aid and emergency care for acutely ill children of various ages.
  • Immunization administration and follow-ups
  • State mandated screenings such as Body Mass Index (BMI) Vision and Oral Health.
  • Coordinate the care for students, make referrals and record keeping
  • Prevent, identify and manage health related issues among students
  • Provide consultation services to students and their families on health-related issues and health teaching.
  • Serve as a liaison and advocate for children focusing on the organization mission

Details of Education and Skills:

Graduate of an accredited LPN program/school

Active and clear Florida LPN license

1 Year clinical experience minimum with knowledge of the clinical needs of students enrolled in Miami-Dade County Public School (MDCPS).

Strong oral and written communication skills

Ability to work and communicate with diverse groups and individuals, independently or as part of a group.

School Health experience preferred.

Must be computer literate with working knowledge in Electronic Health Records.

Special Requirement:

Current BLS and First Aid Certification
