About the Position
Our client is seeking a professional CDL A truck driver for a local, home-daily position in Memphis. Drivers will perform daytime pickup and delivery work, along with nighttime relay routes featuring drop-and-hook operations. New hires may begin on a night route or the extra board.
Pay & Schedule Details
- $1,280 guaranteed per week on an assigned route
- Up to $1,430 per week on the extra board
- Tuesday through Saturday schedule, with the possibility of working up to six days, including Sunday
- Typically 8–14 hours per day
- 40 hours per week
- Drivers are home daily
- Extra board drivers are on call for a full eight-hour period and must be able to respond and report within the required timeframes
- Monthly route bidding may result in assigned routes or on-call work when a route is not operating
Job Details
- Route Type: Local delivery

- Equipment: Manual-transmission trucks, three years old or newer
- Handling: No-touch freight
- Dedicated routes generally run 250–350 miles from the terminal
- All stops are time-sensitive with assigned pickup windows
- Slip-seat operation, with two drivers assigned to each dedicated route
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a commercial motor vehicle
- Complete local pickup, delivery, and relay routes
- Secure freight properly
- Maintain communication with dispatch regarding routes, schedules, and issues
- Follow all applicable DOT regulations and company policies
Minimum Requirements
- 3+ years of recent, relevant, and verifiable driving experience
- Valid Class A CDL
- Clean Motor Vehicle Record with no major traffic violations or preventable accidents in the last 3 years
- Must meet all DOT and FMCSA requirements
