A well-established conglomerate is seeking an experienced Commercial Real Estate Lease Administrator to oversee lease administration and lease accounting for a large commercial real estate portfolio. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented professional with strong knowledge of GAAP lease accounting (lessee) and commercial lease administration to join a sophisticated real estate organization.
Working closely with Asset Management, Property Management, Legal, Leasing, and Facilities, this individual will ensure lease accuracy, compliance, reporting, and financial integrity across a diverse portfolio.
Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of commercial lease administration for a multi-property portfolio.
- Review and interpret lease abstracts, amendments, renewals, assignments, and terminations.
- Ensure lease terms are accurately entered and maintained within lease administration systems.
- Monitor critical dates, rent commencement, renewal options, and lease obligations.
- Administer CAM, tax, insurance, and utility recoveries.
- Prepare and review annual CAM reconciliations and estimated CAM charges.
- Validate tenant charges and resolve lease-related billing discrepancies.
- Review lease provisions to ensure accurate billing and compliance with lease agreements.
- Coordinate with Legal, Leasing, Property Management, and Asset Management regarding lease interpretation and administration.
- Conduct lease audits and compliance reviews.
- Ensure adherence to GAAP lease accounting standards and company policies.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of commercial real estate lease administration experience.
- Experience supporting large commercial, retail, mixed-use, or industrial portfolios.
- Strong knowledge of commercial lease accounting (Lessee) and GAAP real estate accounting principles.
- Experience with:
- Triple Net (NNN) leases
- CAM reconciliations
- Lease abstraction
- Rent commencement calculations
