Job Overview
The Lead Software Engineer will lead design, development, and integration of Parametric’s proprietary software supporting middle- and back-office operations, including reconciliation, accounting, and settlements systems. This management role reports directly to the Operations Technology team and will lead projects and mentor developers.
Hybrid working model: work in the office 3 days a week and the remaining days may be remote.
Primary Responsibilities
- Manage and mentor a team of developers, fostering growth and aligning culture and objectives.
- Lead development projects, covering all stages from requirements gathering to deployment, bug fixes, and enhancements.
- Design and develop high‑quality, flexible technical solutions across all layers of application development, including APIs, application logic, performance, reliability, persistence, tests, CI/CD, and IaC.
- Develop domain expertise within Parametric’s middle‑ and back‑office operations systems.
- Research and deepen expertise in various technologies, incorporating best practices and low‑level details.
- Collaborate across teams to build strong relationships, determine technical needs, and design solutions that integrate into the existing proprietary codebase.
- Adhere to and promote high standards for development maintainability, consistency, performance, and correctness.
Job Qualifications
- 8+ years of hands‑on Java and J2EE development experience, with strong experience in Spring Boot.
- Experience with .NET development is a plus.
- AI fluency, including understanding of current AI landscape and engineering integration strategies.
- Experience supervising software development teams and fostering an engaging, collaborative environment.
- Proven experience with cloud technologies, preferably AWS.
- Proven experience managing all aspects of team‑delivered technical projects, including requirements gathering and documentation.
- Strong understanding of best practices across various programming languages.
- Strong passion for developing a deep understanding of new technologies or solutions.
- Experience with RDBMS or NoSQL persistence technologies.
- Experience developing resources using IaC technologies such as Terraform.
- Experience developing CI/CD pipelines using GitLab or GitHub.
- Experience enforcing high‑quality code quality standards.
- Proven track record as a subject‑matter expert in relevant areas, such as Spring and Hibernate.
- Financial services industry experience.
- Experience building highly scalable solutions in the cloud.
- Experience improving code quality standards through conventions and automated tooling.
- Experience presenting technical contributions to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
Benefits & Compensation
- Salary range: $115,000 – $225,000 per year.
- Eligible for annual discretionary incentive compensation and the applicable business unit incentive compensation plan.
