Lead Software EngineerThe Ecommerce Engineering Team is responsible for providing a scalable, highly performant platform to power all Ecommerce experiences for US and International customers. Our Ecommerce experience reaches millions of customers through various channels with majority of interactions on Mobile web browsers primarily on Safari and Chrome. Our services powers our most loyal customers using our Native iOS App.As Lead Software Engineer, you will be responsible for driving initiatives as Technical owner, alignment, architecture and execution of Ecommerce Technology's unique problem space. As a Senior team member, you will take ownership and responsibility of the work done by other team members. All Software Engineers are expected to be hands-on and contribute code and be involved in architecture/design.Advisory to Ecommerce Technology leadership team on technical direction for initiativesResponsible for repositories, codebase, CI/CD pipelines and governance to ensure high quality performant code is committed and deployed to production.Develop performant features incorporating an evolutionary design and iterative development to balance quality and speed of delivery.Drive Solutioning & Design in collaboration with Architects, Product Managers, Business stakeholders, Security, Infrastructure and external partners,Perform code reviews, mentor senior and software engineers to elevate talent.Deep dive into technical challenges related to scale, resiliency and operational efficiency.Minimize production outages and severity issues with proactive collaboration and monitoring.10+ years of web development experience, building, leading and architecting digital products & services, high volume, scalable and distributed systems.Proficient with event driven architecture.
Experience scaling high volume and low latency services with caching, CDNs, edge computing and serverless architectures.Strong ecommerce development experience using Node.js, Typescript, GraphQL, Python, Distributed Cache and DynamoDB.Good understanding of front-end technologies and its interaction with backend systems – ReactJS/Redux, HTML5. CSS3, Web PixelsDevOps expertise with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, logging, telemetry, monitoring, alerting and proven track record of troubleshooting production issues.Ability to break complex things into small, simpler building blocks to ensure continuous delivery.Attention to detail, curious to learn, competitive to collaborate and win and have fun taking on challenges.Experience with ecommerce platforms like BigCommerce, Commerce tools, ShopifyIntegration experience with incorporating third party products/vendorsExperience with major cloud providers – AWS, Azure, GCPAwareness of cross-browser compatibility issues and client-side vs server-side performance considerations.
