Sales Associate — Role Description

As a Retail Sales Associate with Billy Footwear you are the heartbeat of our new SoDo flagship. This is the perfect role for an empathetic, patient, and detail-oriented professional. You won't just fetch boxes from the back; you will guide families, clinicians, adaptive athletes, and everyday shoe lovers through a personalized, empowering fitting experience. From welcoming neighborhood workers to helping a child put on their own shoes for the first time, your focus is to make every visitor feel valued and heard.

Key Responsibilities

• The "Billy Experience" Fitting: Welcome guests and provide a patient, zero-pressure consultation. Assist customers of all ages and mobility levels in finding the perfect fit, ensuring shoes easily accommodate orthotics, braces, or sensory needs.
• Store Operations & Aesthetic: Maintain the visual standards of our modern SoDo showroom. Keep the sales floor organized, restock footwear displays, and assist the Store Manager with inventory processing and receiving.
• Community Engagement: Represent the Billy Footwear culture inside our neighborhood. Help support inclusive store events, sensory-friendly hours, and community gatherings.
• Point of Sale (POS) Mastery: Process customer transactions accurately and efficiently using our retail POS system while maintaining confidentiality and care with data.

What We Are Looking For

• Empathy & Active Listening: A genuine passion for people. You possess the patience and communication skills required to assist a diverse customer base, including individuals with visible or invisible disabilities.
• Retail Experience: 2+ years of face-to-face retail experience in the footwear industry, including prior experience in a lead or supervisory role preferred.
• Operational Reliability: Strong punctuality and communication with leadership. Comfortable handling physical inventory, including lifting shoe boxes up to 30 lbs and standing for extended shifts.
• Schedule Flexibility: Availability to work a flexible schedule including weekend shifts and occasional evening community events. (Please specify your Full-Time or Part-Time preference during application).
