Lead Mechanical EngineerMaybell Quantum is growing quickly, and we are expanding our technical group! Successful candidates will have experience in the end-to-end product development cycle from concept ideation and requirements discovery to product launch and production (we'll help you come up to speed on the quantum side of things).ResponsibilitiesDesign and development of Maybell products from the ground upIdeate system and sub-system concepts and perform trade-off analysis to determine the best solutions.Translate high level customer needs into product and technical requirements and use them to drive design decisions.Create complex mechanical designs, drawings and documentation for parts and assemblies following DFX principles to develop the most efficient and high-quality products.Maintain ownership over sub-system development and sustaining activities including project and resource planning, gathering of documentation and requirements, and execution of ECOs.Work closely with manufacturing and operations to ensure a smooth transition from concept to a fully scalable high-quality productsRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree (or higher) in an engineering field, or equivalent experience10-15 years of working experience in a mechanical design role, preferably with capital equipment and machine designExceptional CAD and product documentation skillsExperience with designing machined components, sheet metal and weldments with an emphasis on DFMSelf-starter with ability to drive results independentlyDemonstrated ability to bring complex products from concept to productionTeam player with strong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to adapt and perform in a fast paced and dynamic organization.Desired QualificationsExperience in Ansys or equivalent analysis softwareWorking knowledge of the ASME Y14.5 dimensioning and tolerancing standardExperience working with product safety standards (NRTL and CE)Strong hands-on experience building prototypes, test apparatus, and fixtures.Machine shop and fabrication skillsA strong understanding of software and electrical systems to inform design decisions and product architecturesBase salary $130,000/yr - $160,000/yr
