We’re working with a fast-growing software company looking for a Lead Full Stack Engineer to join its New York engineering team.
This is an early-stage opportunity to remain deeply hands-on while helping shape the product, technical direction and development of a growing engineering team.
This is a hands-on player/coach position. You’ll continue building and shipping software while providing technical leadership, mentoring engineers and helping establish how the team operates as it grows.
What you’ll be doing
- Building new product features across frontend, backend and APIs
- Developing Python-based backend services and application logic
- Influencing architecture, engineering standards and technical direction
- Mentoring junior engineers through pairing, guidance and code reviews
- Working closely with product and design to take ideas from concept to production
- Helping interview, hire and develop the New York engineering team
What they’re looking for
- Seven or more years of full stack software engineering experience
- Experience developing backend services using Python or a similar language
- A track record of owning and delivering complex product features
- Experience leading projects and mentoring other engineers
- Strong API design and integration experience
- Experience with cloud platforms, ideally GCP
- An interest in AI-native products and practical experience using AI development tools
- A product-focused mindset and comfort working in a fast-moving environment
Formal management experience isn’t essential, you could be an experienced Senior, Staff or Lead Engineer who enjoys remaining hands-on while helping others develop.
