Laboratory Supervisor
Job Summary
Seeking a Laboratory Supervisor to provide expertise and champion results in a supportive team environment. The role will oversee technical and non-technical laboratory personnel, ensuring compliance, quality, and efficient operations.
You Will
- Supervise technical and/or non-technical laboratory personnel and assign areas/shifts.
- Oversee processes, service levels, and regulatory compliance across all functional areas including licensing, specimen collection, processing, and referral testing.
- Develop monitoring systems for collection, documentation, and reporting of quality assessment and improvement data; extract pertinent information from studies, initiate corrective action plans, and re-monitor results.
- Concurrently monitor resource utilization, including payroll, supplies and expenses, client volume and revenue variation reports, outpatient volume reports, mileage and expense logs; participate in MOR.
- Provide leadership in coaching, guidance, training, and talent development of staff.
- Screen, interview, and select qualified individuals for open positions within the department.
You Should Have
- A 2‑Year/Associate Degree in Science or Medical Technology (required).
- A 4‑Year/Bachelor Degree in Medical Technology (helpful).
- A State of Florida Supervisor’s License or the ability to obtain one during the interview process.
- At least 5 years of experience as a Medical Technologist.
- Prior supervisory experience (beneficial).
- Licensure in 3 technical specialties (preferred).
