You'll spend most of your time performing hands-on analytical work, learning instrument operation, analyzing mass spec chromatograms, and contributing to routine laboratory operations under established procedures.This Analyst I role is designed for you if you enjoy working with analytical instruments, following structured procedures, and translating data into meaningful results, this role will give you a strong foundation for a career in analytical laboratory work.The hourly compensation range for this role is $23.00 to $27.00, commensurate with experience, skills, and geographic location.Schedule: 12pm - 8pmTo thrive in this role, you'll be comfortable taking ownership of the following responsibilities:Assisting with the operation and routine maintenance within the laboratoryProcess and interpret data using acquisition and processing softwarePrepare calibration standardsUse basic laboratory equipment such as micro-syringes, balances, and pipettesWork closely with GC-FID instrumentsEnter and access data within a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS)Evaluate instrument performance and report irregularitiesAssist with drafting and updating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)Follow all Health & Safety, Quality Assurance, and laboratory policiesSupport additional laboratory tasks as neededYour Expertise and SkillsThese requirements reflect the knowledge, skills and abilities that help you do your best work here.BA or BS in Chemistry or a closely related scienceHands-on laboratory experience gained through real world or undergraduate coursework experiences Familiarity with EPA 8260, 8015, 8270 Methods is a plusBasic understanding of analytical chemistry principles and laboratory best practicesAbility to follow written procedures accurately and consistentlyStrong attention to detail and data accuracyEffective communication, organization, and time-management skillsWillingness to learn, accept feedback, and grow technical skills in a production lab environmentThe physical and environmental requirements below reflect what's typically needed to perform the essential functions of this role safely and effectively.
