Labor and Delivery (LD) RN – Travel Nurse
Location: San Ramon, CA
We are looking for an experienced Labor and Delivery RN to fill an immediate travel nurse opening in San Ramon, CA. The ideal candidate must have at least 3 years of recent acute care experience and possess certifications including BLS, NRP, and AWHONN.
Responsibilities
As an L&D RN, you will assist physicians during epidurals, pain medication administration, episiotomies, and preparation for cesarean deliveries. You will also monitor patients throughout labor, provide breathing techniques assistance, check cervical dilation, maintain a clean and safe environment, aid physicians with drapes and instruments, and provide immediate newborn care.
- Stay with and monitor patient throughout labor.
- Monitor contractions and help patients with breathing techniques.
- Check cervix periodically to monitor progression/lack of dilation.
- Ensure beds are kept clean and dry; clean up bodily fluids expelled before and after birthing process.
- Aid physician with drapes, gloves, gowns, delivery instruments, etc.
- Immediate care of newborn.
Qualifications
Requirements: BLS, NRP, AWHONN, 2 Years. Additional certifications may be required before beginning an assignment.
