Overview
The Senior Java Developer with CMS exposure will support and enhance CMS functionality while ensuring smooth integration with non-CMS components.
The role requires strong experience in Java-based CMS development, particularly Bloomreach Experience Manager (Hippo CMS), along with solid communication skills to represent the CMS team in cross-functional discussions.
The developer will participate in development, troubleshooting, documentation, and Agile ceremonies.
Responsibilities
- Provide support for non-CMS components interfacing with the CMS and clarify system boundaries.
- Assist stakeholders in understanding data flow across systems integrated with the CMS.
- Represent the CMS team in discussions with non-CMS stakeholders and articulate architecture and design.
- Work on support tickets, troubleshoot issues, and deliver timely fixes.
- Perform coding, debugging, and unit testing for CMS enhancements and integrations.
- Collaborate with QA teams to ensure high-quality deliverables.
- Prepare technical documentation such as High-Level and Low-Level Design documents.
- Conduct code and documentation reviews for CMS developers.
- Support production deployments and perform post-deployment validations.
- Participate in patching activities, including weekend support when required.
- Maintain communication with onshore teams for updates and alignment.
- Attend and participate in Agile ceremonies including stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in development projects.
- 3+ years of recent experience with Java-based CMS (Bloomreach/Hippo CMS).
- 5+ years of Java/J2EE experience with strong knowledge of Java 8 (Java 17 preferred).
- 2+ years of experience creating and consuming RESTful services.
- 1+ year of experience with GraphQL using Apollo Client and JSON.
- 1+ year of experience working in Agile methodology.
- 2+ years of experience using secure coding practices in Java development.
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitLab CI or Jenkins.
- Experience with build tools such as Maven or Gradle.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
- Strong experience with server-side frameworks including Spring and Apache Wicket.
- Strong adherence to secure coding practices including OWASP Top 10.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Apache Wicket.
- Familiarity with React and Node.js.
- Exposure to NoSQL databases such as Couchbase.
- Experience with AWS S3.
- Experience with Git or Bitbucket.
- Experience with NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra, Couchbase).
- Experience with relational databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or SQL Server.
