Hybrid Full Time Product Management

Berkshire Hathaway companies power some of the most critical systems in North America-spanning transportation, energy, logistics, manufacturing, retail, and infrastructure. At BRK Tech, we partner across these businesses to design, build, and operate modern technology platforms that run at massive scale and support long-term, real-world impact.

One of our Berkshire Hathaway portfolio companies is hiring an IT Program Director based in Portland, OR, Las Vegas, NV, Reno, NV, Des Moines, IA or Glen Allen, VA.

Are you passionate about leading large-scale business and technology transformation initiatives that deliver measurable business value?

We are seeking an experienced IT Program Director to lead strategic enterprise programs across our utility business. This individual will serve as a critical bridge between business stakeholders and technology teams, ensuring the successful delivery of complex modernization initiatives involving enterprise applications, customer-facing systems, and business process transformation.

This role is ideal for a leader who thrives in ambiguity, can influence executive stakeholders, and has a proven track record delivering large-scale enterprise technology programs without needing to own the technical architecture.

What You'll Do

  • Lead and govern large-scale technology and business transformation programs across multiple business functions and affiliates.
  • Partner closely with executive leadership, business stakeholders, project managers, architects, and technology teams to ensure successful delivery of strategic initiatives.
  • Drive enterprise application modernization programs including customer, operations, workforce, and back-office solutions.
  • Coordinate technology decisions across infrastructure, security, application development, architecture, and business teams.
  • Facilitate cross-functional discussions to align business requirements with enterprise technology standards.
  • Identify and mitigate program risks, dependencies, issues, and escalation points.
  • Guide stakeholders through business process redesign and organizational change associated with technology implementations.
  • Provide executive-level reporting, milestone updates, and recommendations to leadership teams.
  • Ensure programs are delivered on time, within budget, and aligned to strategic business objectives.
  • Drive consistency in delivery practices, governance, quality standards, and execution methodologies.

What We're Looking For

  • 10+ years of experience leading enterprise technology programs, business transformation initiatives, or large-scale application modernization efforts.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience (typically 4 additional years)
  • Experience managing complex programs spanning multiple business and technology stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise application environments and systems integration.
  • Ability to effectively translate between business and technical teams.
  • Strong technical foundation to be able to influence technical decisions and engineering teams.
  • Experience partnering with executive leadership and presenting program status, risks, and recommendations.
  • Understanding of Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid delivery methodologies.
  • Strong program governance, risk management, and stakeholder management experience.
  • Experience leading initiatives involving ERP, HR, customer, operations, or enterprise business systems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience within utilities, energy, regulated industries, or large enterprise environments.
  • Exposure to Oracle ERP, Oracle Cloud, enterprise business applications, or large-scale system implementations.
  • Experience supporting enterprise application consolidation, modernization, or digital transformation initiatives.
  • Familiarity with Azure DevOps (ADO), Oracle Primavera Cloud (OPC), or similar project delivery tools.
  • Experience leading business process transformation efforts alongside technology implementations.

Success in This Role

Successful candidates will bring a combination of strategic thinking, program leadership, business process expertise, and technical fluency. You will be trusted to connect business and technology teams, remove obstacles, drive alignment, and deliver complex transformation programs that create long-term value for the organization
