Overview
The University of Kansas Health System is expanding and seeking a BE/BC Interventional Cardiologist to join our dynamic team at our St. Francis Heart & Vascular Center in Topeka, Kansas. Responsibilities
- Full-Time Employment (1.0 FTE)
- Clinical practice (no research or teaching required)
- Established partner of 3 Interventionalists
- Comprehensive cardiology group of 6 Cardiologists, 6 APPs, and experienced support staff (RN, LPN, CNA, MA, secretarial support); team includes 2 CT surgeons and 3 Cardiothoracic APPs
- Clinical testing and procedures available in clinic: Nuclear Stress, Echo, Echo Stress, Exercise Stress testing, Vascular Sonography, Coumadin Clinic, Cardiac Rehab, Vein Clinic, Device Clinic
- Structural Heart Program including ASD/PFO, TAVR, and Watchman
- Referrals from Primary Care and multiple specialists, hospitalists, outreach, and tertiary areas
- Schedule: Monday–Friday with clinic, scheduled days in Cath Lab; weekends and holidays on an inpatient rotating schedule
- Daily patient load: approximately 2.5 clinic patients per hour
- Night and weekend call: about 1 weekend per month; nights variable (4–5 nights per month)
- Excess call pay
- EMR: Epic
- Advanced imaging systems: CV PACS Fuji, EKG Epiphany, 3Mensio structural heart
- Smart technology to improve efficiency and patient flow; Epic EMR and Ambience AI scribe technology to automate documentation, reduce administrative burden, improve coding accuracy, and support work-life balance
Minimum Qualifications
- ABIM Board Certified/Eligible in Cardiovascular Disease
- Fellowship training in Interventional Cardiology
