Intervention SpecialistThe Springfield City School District, home to The John Legend Theatre, is seeking an Intervention Specialist at Roosevelt Middle School for the school year. We are a nationally ranked Division I District serving approximately 7,500 Pre-K through grade 12 students, in a vibrant learning community of 17 state of the art buildings in west-central Ohio. We are Wildcats!As an Intervention Specialist you are required to:Possess or have applied for an Intervention Specialist license or have the ability to obtain a supplemental license as an Intervention Specialist issued by the Ohio Department of Education.Ability to lead professional development of school-wide restorative practicesBe flexible in your work schedule and be willing to attend/participate in professional development sessionsBe willing to serve on teamsHave the ability to relate to and teach students with diverse backgroundsDemonstrate enthusiasm in your roleAs an Intervention Specialist you will:The ability to effectively differentiate instructionAccurately analyze data to plan instruction that is aligned to the common core State StandardsBe able to effectively manage and instruct whole and small groupsHave experience with writing standards-based IEPsUse research based pedagogy with excellent background knowledge of all content standardsDeveloping lesson plans and instructional materials and providing individualized and small group instruction to meet the needs of each studentActively engaging at-risk students in the learning process; planning and using appropriate instructional and learning strategies, activities, materials, and equipment that reflect understanding of the learning styles and needs of studentsRecognizing the needs of individual students and the entire group and offering support and flexibility as neededWorking as part of a cooperative and diverse team of educators and administrators to carry out the goals of our DistrictUtilizing technology to strengthen the teaching/learning processParticipating in professional development activities that are aligned with district and building goals, assigned subject content and the varied needs of studentsAs a contracted employee, Intervention Specialist work 183 days per year and 7.25 hours per day. Starting salary is in accordance with the negotiated agreement, increases with experience and education.

All employees receive professional development The Springfield Education Association and the Board of Education are currently working on a new professional agreement. While that is in the works, please refer to the current agreement as to pay and benefits that are in place for the school year.
