Integrated Photonics Design ManagerWe are seeking an Integrated Photonics Design Manager in our Broomfield, CO or Albuquerque, NM Location.All applicants for placement in safety-sensitive positions will be required to submit to a pre-employment drug test.Key Responsibilities:Personnel Manager for a team of engineers and scientists whose charter is to conceptualize and execute PIC designs and development for quantum computing systemsCollaborate with technical staff on developing photonic roadmaps, technology development, and advanced R&D activitiesGuide and coordinate optical R&D efforts from concept through design validations for multi-year photonic projectsPlan and nurture career development of direct-reporting engineers/scientists through mentoring, coaching, and trainingImplement best practices and behaviors in an R&D environment to ensure quality and requirements are metIdentify key technologies, innovations, infrastructure, projects and resources needed to improve photonic design and development capabilities to meet business needsLead efforts recruiting and retaining high performing technical PIC design staffClearly and effectively communicate to positively impact the team, actively listen, and strengthen communications between technical and management teamsYou Must Have:Bachelor's Degree minimumMinimum 8 year's of industry experience developing and designing PIC solutionsMinimum 3 years' experience managing technical teamsDue to contractual requirements, must be a U.S. Person defined as, U.S. citizen permanent resident or green card holder, workers granted asylum or refugee statusDue to national security requirements imposed by the U.S.
Government, candidates for this position must not be a People's Republic of China national or Russian national unless the candidate is also a U.S. citizen.We Value:Ph.D. or Masters in Photonics, Optics, or Applied PhysicsInvolvement in photonics design projects from concept to productionExperience with photonic simulation tools (Lumerical, Tidy3D, RSoft, or similar guided mode and FDTD solvers)Experience with photonic layout tools (Klayout, GDSFactory, or similar)4+ years' experience with the design of photonic waveguide, splitters, couplers, gratings, and/or active photonic components4+ years' experience leading integrated photonic designs from requirements, design, layout, fabrication, and testExperience managing teams across multiple geographic locationsExperience with photonic integrated circuit fabrication and testing processes and toolsExperience with photonic materials and their behaviors and metrologyExperience developing PIC design tools and infrastructure to improve development times and qualityExperience executing engineering trade studies and communicating with other disciplines to provide roadmaps and solutionsExperience working with wavelengths from UV to Infrared$180,000 - $225,000 a year Compensation & Benefits: Incentive Eligible – Range posted is inclusive of bonus target The pay range for this role is $180,000 – $225,000 annually.
