Role Overview:
The Infection Preventionist is responsible for implementing infection prevention and control activities, including surveillance, investigation, data analysis, consultation, and education. They support the Hospital Infection Prevention Program to enhance patient outcomes across clinical areas and serve as the Infection Prevention Officer.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct infection surveillance, investigations, and data interpretation.
- Provide consultation and educational support related to infection prevention.
- Assist in developing and maintaining infection control protocols.
- Support improvement initiatives to reduce infection risks and enhance patient safety.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or healthcare-related field; additional experience or training may substitute.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in nursing or an acute care setting; 3+ years of infection prevention experience is highly preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA or ARC.
