Pay rate and work schedule: Contractor to permanent role:

Pay rate range $30-$32 per hour, Day shift. 10 hours/day and every other weekend.

Mandatory overtime

The Positions is located in Ellenwood, GA

Job Summary

The Industrial Electrician position performs preventive and corrective maintenance in the plant under management supervision.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

  • Assists in the installation of new equipment.
  • Assists the Maintenance Electrician Supervisor and/or other personnel on special fabrication and construction projects.
  • Follows preventative maintenance schedule.
  • Trains Level 1 and 2 Maintenance Electrician personnel.
  • Troubleshoots and repairs process machinery and hydraulic equipment.
  • Changes electrical breakers and electrical starters; operates voltage, amp, and ohm meters.
  • Maintains clean, neat and orderly work area at all times.
  • Responsible for using assigned safety equipment including a bump cap, safety glasses or goggles, welding protection, and a safety harness; responsible for being familiar with and observing all Company safety rules and regulations.
  • Attends regularly scheduled safety meetings and may be asked to serve on Safety Committee.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum 6 years experience with rendering or other similar equipment.
  • Must have working of electrical knowledge of 480 volts .and below
  • PLC knowledge a plus

Preferred Qualifications

  • Vocational school with electrical training preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of general maintenance and equipment operations.
  • General mechanical aptitude; able to diagnosis problems with motors and other equipment.
  • Good math skills; add, subtract, multiply and divide whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
  • Must pass skills test on 480V combination starter/breaker box and control voltage for combination box.
  • Must have welding Experience

Physical Demands

  • Frequently required to push, pull, move or lift up to 100 lbs.
  • Frequently required to walk, stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crawl, and crouch.
  • Regularly required reach with hands and arms.
  • Maybe asked to travel to other plants for construction projects.
  • May need to work nights and weekends; available "on call" as needed.

Work Environment

Job functions will be carried out in a rendering facility which requires tolerance for wet and or slippery floors and high heat or cold temperatures.

Responsibilities

  • Install, test, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems including high-voltage and low-voltage wiring on industrial equipment and machinery.
  • Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to accurately execute installation and maintenance tasks.
  • Conduct electrical diagnostics using tools such as ohmmeters and multimeters to identify faults and determine appropriate solutions.
  • Ensure all work complies with local electrical codes, NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code), NEC standards, and electrical safety procedures.
  • Perform high-voltage wiring tasks safely while adhering to strict safety protocols to prevent accidents or injuries.
  • Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, inspections, and system upgrades for compliance and future reference.
  • Collaborate with construction teams during renovation or new construction projects to install electrical systems according to specifications.
  • Utilize hand tools, power tools, schematics, and blueprint reading skills effectively on construction sites or during system upgrades.
  • Support ongoing training on electrical safety procedures to promote a culture of safety across the workplace.
  • Assist with framing carpentry or handyman tasks as needed during facility renovations or minor repairs.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as an industrial electrician with a strong understanding of electrical systems in manufacturing or large-scale facilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams accurately.
  • Knowledge of NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code), NEC standards, local electrical codes, and high-voltage wiring practices.
  • Skilled in electrical diagnostics using tools such as ohmmeters and multimeters for troubleshooting complex issues.
  • Experience working with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and schematics related to industrial automation systems.
  • Hands-on experience with high-voltage electrical wiring, low voltage systems, and electrical safety procedures in industrial settings.
  • Construction site experience including renovation projects or new installations within commercial or industrial environments.
  • Ability to operate power tools safely while adhering to all safety protocols; handyman experience is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving skills combined with excellent attention to detail in fast-paced environments.
  • Relevant certifications in electrical work; licensure as an electrician preferred but not mandatory depending on jurisdiction.
