Job Details / Responsibilities

• Provide independent, competent nursing care in the ICU using the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, evaluation) for critically ill patients
• Deliver routine and complex care, managing high-acuity situations, contingencies, and long-range patient goals
• Administer medications, treatments, and advanced therapies while monitoring effectiveness and side effects
• Perform critical assessments, hemodynamic monitoring, ventilator management, and rapid response to changes in patient condition
• Address complex physical, psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for coordinated care, patient education, and optimal outcomes
• Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care accurately while ensuring compliance with standards
• Meet OneCHRISTUS Competencies as Leader of Self, Others, or Leaders while promoting patient safety and quality initiatives

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas (or compact state)
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (BSN preferred)
• Minimum 1 year of ICU/critical care experience preferred (will consider strong Med-Surg or acute care background)
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS required (additional certifications within designated grace periods)
• Strong critical thinking, assessment, and communication skills in high-pressure environments
• Ability to work full-time 12-hour shifts, including days/nights/weekends/holidays as needed
