HR GeneralistAmoroso Construction is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive HR Generalist to support daily human resources operations across office and field employees. This role is responsible for assisting with employee relations, recruiting, onboarding, compliance, benefits administration, performance management, and HR program administration while ensuring alignment with company policies and applicable employment laws. The ideal candidate thrives in a construction environment and can effectively support employees at all levels of the organization.Essential Job FunctionsCoordinate full-cycle recruiting activities including posting positions, screening applicants, scheduling interviews, and extending offersFacilitate onboarding and orientation for new hires, ensuring completion of required documentation and trainingCoordinate pre-employment requirements including background checks, drug screenings, and employment verificationMaintain onboarding records and personnel filesServe as a resource for employees and managers regarding HR policies, procedures, and workplace concernsPromote a positive workplace culture and employee engagement initiativesAssist employees with benefits enrollment and questions related to company-sponsored programsSupport administration of leave programs including FMLA, CFRA, ADA accommodations, and other protected leavesMaintain accurate records for benefits and employee status changesMaintain employee personnel files and HRIS records in accordance with company policiesSupport I-9 compliance and employment eligibility verification processesCoordinate employee training programs and track required certifications and licensesAssist with payroll processing activities and employee changes as neededPrepare reports, maintain HR metrics, and support auditsSupport offboarding activities including exit interviews and separation documentationKnowledge, Skills and Abilities RequiredKnowledge of California employment laws and HR best practicesStrong interpersonal and communication skillsAbility to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgmentExperience with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office SuiteStrong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple prioritiesAbility to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environmentEducation and Experience:Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, or related field preferred3–5 years of Human Resources experience requiredConstruction industry experience preferredExperience supporting both office and field employees strongly preferredPhysical RequirementsProlonged periods of sitting and computer workAbility to occasionally travel to project sitesAbility to lift up to 25 pounds occasionallyS.J.
