As a nonprofit, mission-driven organization, we are committed to advancing equity, stability, and opportunity for all residents through safe housing and supportive services.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and execute HR strategies that support organizational growth, compliance, and mission impactPartner with executive leadership on workforce planning across property management, maintenance, and corporate teamsLead culture development initiatives emphasizing equity, inclusion, and resident-centered serviceOversee recruitment for site staff (property managers, leasing, maintenance techs) and corporate rolesDesign onboarding programs tailored to affordable housing operationsImplement retention strategies to reduce turnover in high-demand property rolesServe as a trusted advisor to managers on performance management, coaching, and conflict resolutionPromote a positive, inclusive workplace culture aligned with RMC valuesLead engagement surveys and action planningEnsure compliance with employment laws and industry regulations (OSHA, HUD, Fair Housing)Maintain policies and procedures consistent with nonprofit, affordable housing provider standardsOversee investigations and risk mitigationManage compensation structures for multi-site property portfoliosBenchmark salaries against nonprofit housing providers and property management marketsOversee benefits programs that support workforce stabilityLead a small HR team providing hands on back up as needed for HR partnersManage recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, and policy administrationEnsure HR processes are compliant, practical, and scalableEnsure accurate HR data for audits, grants, and reporting requirementsQualificationsBachelor's degree in HR, Business, or related field (Master's preferred)7–10+ years of progressive HR leadership experienceExperience in property management, real estate, or affordable housing industry strongly preferredKnowledge of HUD, Fair Housing laws, and LIHTC programsSHRM-CP/SPHR or equivalent certification preferredCore CompetenciesMission-driven and values-alignedHands On, practical HR leadershipComfort operating with limited resourcesStrong relationship builder across diverse teamsSkilled in navigating complex regulatory environmentsChange management expertiseThis job description is intended to describe the general nature of work performed.
