Key Responsibilities for the Grants and Contracts Accountant:
- Prepare and submit monthly grant invoices with supporting documentation
• Track and reconcile grant receivables, income, and expense accounts
• Review grant agreements and budgets to ensure compliance and proper expense allocation
• Partner with program managers to monitor budgets and spending activity
• Support journal entries, contract setup, audit preparation, and budget development
• Improve financial tracking, reporting processes, and grant management systems
Qualifications for the Grants and Contracts Accountant:
- 2-4 years of accounting or financial services experience, preferably in nonprofit or grant-funded environments
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
• Knowledge of GAAP, revenue recognition, fund accounting, and grant compliance
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with accounting software (Sage Intacct preferred)
