Guidacent is seeking a GIS Architect with deep Esri ArcGIS Enterprise experience to support a multi‑year modernization initiative with one of our municipal clients. You will lead a critical ArcGIS Enterprise 10.9.1 → 11.x upgrade, design a non‑ArcMap Lucity bridge solution, and support ongoing GIS administration, modernization, and digital transformation. You’ll be helping a city modernize its entire GIS ecosystem while ensuring continuity across mission‑critical workflows. Expect a mix of strategic architecture work, hands‑on engineering, and modernization leadership.
Responsibilities:
Year 1 – High‑Priority Migration
- Architect and execute the upgrade of ArcGIS Enterprise (Server, Portal, Datastore)
- Design and implement a non‑ArcMap Lucity bridge to replace legacy runtime dependencies
- Conduct environment testing, documentation, and user training
- Ensure seamless continuity for field and operational workflows
Years 2–3 – Modernization & Administration
- Perform annual ArcGIS Enterprise + geodatabase upgrades
- Administer and optimize ArcGIS Online & Portal
- Lead geodatabase management and SQL Server tuning
- Modernize legacy scripts using Python/ArcPy and Arcade
- Support digital transformation and GIS application enhancements
Requirements:
- 7+ years administering and upgrading ArcGIS Enterprise environments
- Significant experience with SDE geodatabases & SQL Server
- Experience with CentralSquare Lucity, AMS integration, or utility workflows a major plus
- Ability to produce well‑structured documentation and lead client‑facing workshops
