Geotechnical EngineerAECOM is seeking a highly motivated geotechnical engineer to support mine tailings, geotechnical, and heavy civil infrastructure projects as part of the Mining group.Job Summary/Responsibilities:Performs specific portions of broader projects under the supervision of an experienced engineer.Planning, implementing, and overseeing geotechnical exploration programs (30% travel/field time)Developing geotechnical laboratory testing assignmentsPerforming geotechnical evaluations including material characterization, liquefaction, seepage, slope stability, and settlement analysesPreparing calculation packagesAssisting with the development of geotechnical reports, drawings and specificationsPreparing and presenting technical presentations of evaluation results to internal teamReview of geotechnical instrumentation and preparation of instrumentation monitoring reportsMinimum Requirements:BA/BS + 2 yrs of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and / or education.Valid U.S. Driver's LicensePreferred Qualifications:MA/MS Civil Engineering with Geotechnical EmphasisEIT Certification or ability to obtain within 6 months4+ years of relevant experienceBasic Knowledge of industry software such as GeoStudio, Utexas, Grapher and AutoCAD Civil3DField/Construction experience; tailings or dams experience a plusFamiliarity with design reports, drawings and specificationsExcellent Verbal and written communication skillsDemonstrate proactive problem-solving skillsAbility to maintain organization in a changing environmentExhibits initiative, responsibility and flexibilityResourceful, highly organized, and detail orientedAbility to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlinesEffective time-management and interpersonal SkillsAbility to work independently and in a team environmentAdditional Information:Relocation is not available for this role.Sponsorship is not available for this role now or in the future.At AECOM, we are committed to maintaining a secure and trustworthy recruitment process and take any fraudulent hiring activity seriously.
