Store General Manager is responsible for all aspects of the store’s operations. This is a wonderful opportunity for an experienced automotive leader who is motivated and strives for excellence. Store General Manager offers great pay and full benefits. Prior experience as general manager, store manager, auto dealership, automotive retail, auto sales, retail management, or retail manager is very helpful to the success of this role.

Responsibilities

  • Overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the store.
  • Supervises four to five non-supervisory employees and one assistant store manager / sales manager, ensuring effective teamwork.
  • Conducts interviewing, hiring, and training of employees; plans, assigns, and directs work; appraises performance; rewards and disciplines employees.
  • Schedules and assigns employees to meet store operational requirements and follows up on work results.
  • Recruits, selects, orients, and trains new staff.
  • Maintains merchandise availability and inventory control.
  • Secures merchandise through security systems and measures.
  • Builds rapport with customers to identify current and future requirements.
  • Ensures compliance with legal requirements and maintains the store’s reputation.
  • Provides a safe and clean store environment to protect employees and customers.
  • Reviews operating and financial statements and departmental sales records to determine marketing strategy changes.
  • Initiates, coordinates, and enforces program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures.

Qualifications

  • Two to four years of supervisory/management experience; experience in Rent to Own and/or wheel and tire is desirable.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to read, analyze, and interpret business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations.
  • Proficiency in writing reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Strong math skills: ability to calculate figures, discounts, interest, commissions, percentages, and apply basic algebra and geometry.
  • Computer skills: Word processing, spreadsheet, inventory, payroll, internet, and database software.
  • Valid state driver’s license.
