Manufacturing General Forge HelperHowmet Engine Systems has an immediate opening for a Manufacturing General Forge Helper to assist in the manufacturing process at our facility in Rochester, NY.Basic Function:Work in all metal forgings positions to assist operators in the completion of customer orders. This position is based in our Rochester, NY facility. Candidates should be shift flexible and able to work 12-hour shifts.Responsibilities:Assist in the set-up and operation of hydraulic industrial forging equipmentSet, adjust and monitor CN programs to process hot and cold forging ringsMeasure and record dimensions of forgings using scales, calipers and other toolsSet, adjust and monitor furnaces to ensure material is heated properly and fullyFollow all Howmet quality procedures to meet customer requirementsRead and interpret travelers to create forgings meeting customer printsInterpret basic drawings to ensure parts and tooling are conformingVisually inspect parts to identify and notify engineering of defectsUse forklifts and manipulators to transport and move hot and cold materialPerform preventative maintenance dailyClean, paint and maintain assigned cell as required by your supervisorWork with other departments and shifts to ensure business needs are metFollow all safety procedures and assist in notification of improvement areasStrong teamwork skills in order to work with different teams and leads on a daily basisMay be required to wear a respirator or supplied air systemOther duties as assigned by managementBasic Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalentAbility to read a ruler and compete basic arithmeticMust be able to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.Ability to multi-task and overcome obstacles as they ariseContinuously lift up to 30 lbsAbility to work 12 hour shiftsAvailable to work nights and weekendsSalary Range: $18/hourEmployees must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
