Position: Teacher Assistant
Full Time: Monday - Friday 8AM-4PM, following the school calendar
Mission Alignment - The teacher assistant will follow the mission of Holy Family Regional School providing a Catholic education fostering spiritual and religious formation, academic excellence, and service to others.
Job Goal -
The Teacher Assistant supports the classroom teacher in providing a faith-filled, safe, and engaging learning environment rooted in Catholic values. The Teacher Assistant assists with instructional activities, classroom management, and student supervision while modeling Christian behavior and supporting the mission of the Catholic school.
Job Responsibilities-
Classroom Support
Assist the classroom teacher with daily instructional activities and lesson implementation
Work with individual students or small groups to reinforce learning and support academic growth
Prepare instructional materials, classroom resources, and learning centers
Support classroom routines, transitions, and organization
Student Supervision & Care
Supervise students during classroom activities, recess, lunch, arrival, and dismissal as assigned
Assist with student behavior management in accordance with school policies
Provide compassionate support to students with academic, social, or emotional needs
Faith & Mission Support
Support prayer, religious instruction, and faith-based activities within the classroom
Assist with school liturgies, prayer services, and Catholic traditions
Clerical & Organizational Support
Assist with grading, copying, filing, and record keeping as directed by the teacher
Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly classroom environment
Communicate appropriately with teachers and administration regarding student needs
Safety & Compliance
Follow school and diocesan policies, including safe environment and confidentiality guidelines
Assist with basic health and safety needs of students when necessary
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required
Experience working with children preferred
Practicing Catholic preferred, or willingness to support and uphold the mission and teachings of the Catholic Church
Ability to follow direction and work collaboratively with teachers and staff
Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills
Work Environment
Classroom and school setting with frequent interaction with children
Requires standing, walking, and light lifting throughout the school day
