Finance Associate - Level 2
We are seeking a Finance Associate/Tax Analyst to support indirect tax compliance activities, including sales and use tax, business licenses, and related reporting requirements. This role involves analyzing and reconciling financial and transactional data from multiple systems, preparing tax compliance support, and ensuring accurate reporting in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will possess a strong data-driven mindset, exceptional analytical skills, advanced Excel capabilities, and experience with ERP systems.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and support sales and use tax compliance activities.
- Assist with business license applications, renewals, and reporting requirements.
- Extract, analyze, and reconcile data from ERP systems and multiple data sources.
- Utilize advanced Excel functions to combine, validate, and analyze non-uniform data sets.
- Prepare account reconciliations and supporting journal entries as required.
- Research and resolve data discrepancies and tax-related exceptions.
- Maintain documentation of compliance procedures and internal controls.
- Support audits, tax inquiries, and other compliance-related requests.
- Execute recurring tax processes independently and accurately while meeting established deadlines.
- Identify opportunities to improve data quality, reporting, and process efficiency.
Essential Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field preferred.
- 2-4 years of experience in indirect tax, accounting, finance, or related functions.
- Experience with Sales & Use Tax highly desirable.
- Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills with the ability to interpret complex data and identify meaningful trends.
- Demonstrated data-driven approach to problem solving and decision making.
- Ability to communicate data findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience working with large datasets, tax engines, ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, PeopleSoft, or similar), and reporting tools.
- Strong Excel skills including PivotTables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, Power Query, and data reconciliation techniques.
- Working knowledge of accounting principles, account reconciliations, and journal entries.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
Work Environment
This is a hybrid position requiring one day onsite each week at our Richardson, Texas location, with standard working hours from 8 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday. The role offers a dynamic environment with opportunities for skill development and process improvement. The assignment duration is four months with the possibility of extension. The interview process includes 1-2 virtual interviews.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $10.00 - $10.00/hr.
