Final Assembler

Final AssemblerAs a Final Assembler, you will ensure that units are properly prepped for shipment. This role involves attaching doors, lifting up to 50 pounds, screwing sheet metal panels together, installing insulation, and using power tools such as drills, grinders, and plasma cutting equipment. You will also be responsible for laying out, measuring, and marking dimensions and reference lines on materials, as well as fastening seams and joints with bolts, rivets, caulks, and metal drive clips to assemble components into the final product. Maintaining cleanliness in the work area is also a key part of this role.ResponsibilitiesEnsure units are prepped for shipment.Attach doors and lift up to 50 pounds.Screw sheet metal panels together.Install insulation.Use power tools including drills, grinders, and plasma cutting equipment.Lay out, measure, and mark dimensions and reference lines on materials.Utilize a calculator and tape measure.Fasten seams and joints with bolts, rivets, caulks, and metal drive clips.Maintain cleanliness of the work area.Essential SkillsProficiency in using hand and power tools.Experience in mechanical assembly.Ability to read and interpret blueprints.Experience with sheet metal fabrication.Ability to read tape measures, levels, and squares.Additional Skills & QualificationsPrevious experience in a fabrication shop.Experience in construction and installation assembly.Work EnvironmentThe work environment includes a first shift schedule from 5:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Thursday, with potential overtime on Fridays and Saturdays.

The role requires the use of various power tools and involves physical activity such as lifting and assembling components.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of South Bend, IN.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
