Summer Project AssociateUrick Ductile Solutions maintains a significant volume of critical business information stored on a shared network drive (F:/), including Quality Management System (QMS) documentation, production records, safety materials, policies and procedures, sales resources, scheduling tools, and finance-related files. The objective of this summer project is to transition this information into Microsoft Teams and SharePoint in a thoughtful, structured, and sustainable way, consistent with manufacturing, quality, and document-control best practices. This is not a simple file transfer project; it requires organization, standardization, and coordination with functional leaders to ensure the system supports day-to-day foundry operations and long-term governance.
The position reports to the Foundry Director and will work closely with Urick functional department managers.Key Project Responsibilities Under the direction of the Foundry Director and with input from functional leaders, the summer project associate will:Inventory & Assess Existing Content Review folder structures and files across the F:/ driveCategorize content by function (Quality, Safety, Production, Sales, Finance, Scheduling, Policies, etc.)Identify obsolete, duplicate, or unclear documents for management reviewDesign a Logical Teams / SharePoint Structure Help define standardized folder structures aligned to Urick's operating modelApply consistent naming conventions for folders and filesEnsure alignment with QMS, safety, and document-control expectationsExecute Document Migration Migrate approved documents into appropriate Microsoft Teams and SharePoint locationsPreserve current working versions while flagging documents needing revision or ownership clarificationValidate accessibility and permissions with department ownersSupport Governance & Sustainability Assist in drafting simple, practical guidance for document storage and usageHelp clarify functional ownership for key document areasSupport a structure that prevents re-creation of unstructured shared-drive storageCoordinate Across the Foundry Organization Meet periodically with department managers to confirm accuracy and usabilityTrack progress, issues, and decisions using a simple status logElevate questions and provide recommendations to the Foundry Director as neededDeliverables (End-of-Project Outcomes) By the conclusion of the summer project, deliverables will include:A well-organized Microsoft Teams / SharePoint environment aligned to foundry operationsMigrated files from the F:/ drive placed in clearly defined, functional locationsA documented folder structure and file-naming standardA high-level content inventory identifying: Active and controlled documentsObsolete or duplicate filesItems requiring future revision or ownership assignmentA concise user guidance document explaining where documents live and how Teams should be used at UrickRequired QualificationsStrong organizational skills and attention to detailComfort working with large sets of files and structured dataFamiliarity with Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Excel, and general PC toolsAbility to follow all safety requirements and wear PPE when in the foundry environmentBenefits (employee contribution):Health insuranceHealth savings accountDental insuranceVision insuranceFlexible spending accountsLife insuranceRetirement planAll qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to age, race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or status as a protected veteran.
