Job DescriptionIn collaboration with other Area Superintendents and under the supervision of the Department Manager, this position will be primarily responsible for the oversight of the operations, strategic planning and personnel management of our General Forepersons and Forepersons within the sheet metal trade of the assigned area.Supervises:General Forepersons, ForepersonsEssential Duties & Responsibilities:Lead and oversee all sheet metal field activities to ensure standards and productivity are met in an effort to achieve company goalsOperations Assist direct reports with Resource managementProper team selection including assignment of ForepersonsProject execution strategies and schedulingWeekly project progress, health and safety reportsHelp to provide resolution of issues, challenges and obstaclesExecution of QA/QC protocolsImplementation of Safety Department's protocolsImplementation of corporate policies and proceduresPlanning for successful project installationJob Walks (with/for PM's)Attend pre-bid & post-bid interviewsReview bid estimatesParticipation in project kick-off, mid-job and wrap-up meetingsReview project documents to determine the proper staffing requirementsAssignment of field supervision and labor to projectsMovement/transfer of employees between General Forepersons and ForepersonsContinuous evaluation of all personnel to ensure performance is at the highest levelMonitor and advise on quality control measures to ensure high-quality output at or above industry standardsEvaluate and advise on means and methods of continuous improvement to increase efficiency and meet project goalsReview and track project labor budgetsFill any project need gaps until job is assigned a field supervisorEngage with labor relations representatives to create and foster meaningful, long-term relationships that support company goals including defending and resolving labor disputesKnowledge of current building and mechanical codeEncourage communication between the assigned project supervision and the associated PM/PE.
