Family Medicine Physician - Preceptor

Presbyterian Healthcare Services is seeking a dedicated MD or DO to serve as a full-time Preceptor for family medicine residents. In this role, you will foster a supportive, evidence-based educational environment, guiding residents through patient cases and in-basket management. • Precept on average one A12 day per week, with options to precept more
• Preceptors may be asked to help with didactics or other resident education if not scheduled to precept weekly

Responsibilities

• Review each patient case with resident physicians and guide them to deliver appropriate care
• Support resident physicians with in-basket management
• Be ready to precept at the start of the clinic (8am and 1pm)
• Stay at least until the end of the clinic (12pm/5pm) and not leave until all patients have been staffed
• Sign off on notes in a timely manner, in alignment with departmental/clinic documentation guidelines
• Fill out one New Innovations daily clinic evaluation for a resident every time precepting and aim to give in person feedback
• See all intern patients in person through the first 6 months of their training and be available to see patients as needed for clinical care and education
• See level 4 visits, hospital discharges, well child checks, and patients residents are requesting to be seen

Requirements

• MD or DO
• Board certified in family medicine
• PMG PCP
• Comfort with Medications for Opioid Use Disorders (MOUD)
• Comfort with prenatal care
• Ability to supervise procedures including PAP smears, LARC placement and removals (IUDs and Nexplanons), skin shave and punch biopsies, skin lesion removals, endometrial biopsies, joint, knee and shoulder injections, trigger point injections, nail removals, laceration repairs, and I&D
