The Detroit Medical Group's Grand River Health Center is seeking a passionate Family Medicine physician to join their established Family Medicine Residency Program as Core Faculty. This full-time position involves administering and maintaining an educational environment for residents, participating in didactics, and mentoring residents on projects and research. The role also includes direct patient care in an outpatient setting and involvement in resident recruitment.

- The program maintains 16 residents each year
- Full complement of support staff to assist with operational needs
- Precept in a residency clinic
- OB/Gynecology provider is located within the facility
- Onsite laboratory and radiology services
Responsibilities
- Participate in the development of resident didactics and provide presentations
- Mentor residents on their senior projects and participate in research projects and journal club
- Participate in the recruitment of new residents into the program
- Participate in supervisory and teaching responsibilities to residents in an outpatient setting
- Serve as an advisor and role model for Family Medicine residents
- Maintain scholarly activity as it relates to ACGME requirements
- Participate in resident journal clubs
- Provision of direct patient care in an outpatient setting
Compensation

Requirements
- 3-5 years family medicine experience highly preferred
- Previous academic experience highly preferred
- Experience with outpatient medical faculty preferred
- Board Certification in Family Medicine
- DEA
- Michigan licensed or eligible to obtain licensure in the State of Michigan
- Basic Life Support (BLS) or obtain within 3 months of hire
- Knowledge of the principles and practice of preventative medicine
- Knowledge of the state and federal laws pertaining to medicine and to community health centers
- Demonstrated skill of accessing, analyzing, and applying medical literature to clinical practice
