Faculty Physician – Pediatric Urology (Assistant or Associate Professor – Academic Track)

About the Position

The Department of Urology at the University of Minnesota Medical School seeks a full‑time Pediatric Urologist for a clinical appointment on the academic, master‑clinician, or tenure track as an Assistant or Associate Professor, contingent upon meeting departmental and University criteria for appointment.

About the Division – Physicians and nurse practitioners in pediatric urology provide expertise in a broad range of health concerns, from common conditions such as bed‑wetting and urinary tract infections to complex congenital malformations, including in‑utero treatment. The team has special expertise in hypospadias, urinary obstruction, reflux, renal stone, voiding dysfunction, and partners with a multidisciplinary center for disorders of sexual differentiation.

Responsibilities

• Engage in clinical care and/or basic science research.
• Provide patient care in pediatric urology at the University of Minnesota Masonic Children’s Hospital and outpatient clinical practice.
• Participate in teaching medical students, residents, fellows, and advanced practice providers.
• Serve on service activities for the department, medical school, and profession.
• Attract students and residents, including those from backgrounds traditionally underrepresented in surgery.
• Participate in research projects and academic/scholarly activities, collaborate or act as independent researcher.
• Engage in faculty development activities tailored to career interests and goals.
• Maintain active involvement in national organizations and foster an academic environment for students and faculty.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited ACGME Urology residency and Pediatric Urology fellowship training program.
• Board eligible or certified in Pediatric Urology.
• Strong surgical skills and sensitivity to patients from diverse backgrounds.
• Licensed or ability to obtain Minnesota Board of Medical Practice Licensure.
• Ability to obtain and maintain DEA certification in Minnesota.
• Meet threshold criteria/qualifications for Credentialing and Privileges.
• Hold or be able to obtain U.S. work authorization and maintain legal status.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Team‑player with priority of patient service.
• Detail‑oriented, self‑motivated, education‑focused, and creative problem‑solver.

Benefits

Base salary range: $450,000 – $650,000, commensurate with experience, qualifications, and cFTE. Clinical salary aligned with effort is provided through M Physicians.
