F/A-18 Electrical Maintenance TechnicianWe are hiring an F/A-18 Electrical Maintenance Technician in New Orleans, LA, to support fighter aircraft electrical maintenance, egress systems, survival equipment, and aircraft modification activities in a defense aviation environment. This contract role requires experience with F/A-18 ejection seats, aircraft electrical systems, pneumatic and hydraulic troubleshooting, flightline inspections, and depot-level maintenance, along with an active Secret Clearance and international travel capability.Responsibilities:Technician maintains the following: Aircraft seats and canopy ejection systems, Gaseous O2, fire extinguishing, air conditioning, cockpit heat, pressurization, and ventilationRemove and install Oxygen system valves, gauges, converters, and regulators.Remove, install, inspect, and rig ejection seats, Cartridge Actuation Devices (CADS), shoulder harnesses, and lap belts.Perform daily, pre- and post-flight, and periodic aircraft inspections.Assembles, disassembles, and/or modifies systems by changing, removing, replacing, or upgrading aerospace vehicle components to correct failures or implement changes.Oversees assembly, disassembly, or overhaul.Configures aerospace vehicles and bench test equipment.Troubleshoot complex pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems to isolate mechanical or electrical faults and repair faulty components.Performs validation/verification testing of systems and components.Documents procedures and established processes to ensure contractual and regulatory compliance (e.g., repairs, test results, applicable modifications, and inspection results).Inspects components and verifies repairs for flight-worthiness requirements. Oversees training.
Works under general direction.Qualifications:Active Department of Defense Secret ClearanceMinimum 5 years of aviation maintenance experience in egress, survival equipment, and/or related aircraft systemsExperience installing/removing F-18 ejection seatsExperience reading and interpreting technical manuals, schematics, and maintenance proceduresAbility to lift 50 lbs and perform maintenance tasks in confined spaces or elevated positionsValid passport and ability to travel internationallyTravel to Scotland, Greece, and Kuwait (will be visiting US military bases while there)Preferred Qualifications:Fighter Structural Modification ExperienceAbility to safely handle explosive devices and hazardous componentsFighter Electrical modification experienceMoseley Technical Services, Inc. is an AA/EEO/Veterans/Disabled Employer.
