Extended Expertise Consultant

Piper Companies is seeking an Extended Expertise Consultant (EEC) to support enterprise customers in implementing, configuring, and migrating network security solution. This role is ideal for an experienced network security professional with hands-on expertise in enterprise firewalls, VPNs, routing, and cloud-delivered security who excels at troubleshooting complex connectivity issues and working directly with customers throughout security implementation and migration projects. This is a hybrid position in Denver, CO.

Responsibilities:

• Design, configure, and implement Palo Alto Networks Prisma Access solutions to support secure remote access and enterprise network connectivity.
• Lead and support enterprise firewall and VPN migrations, including transitions from legacy platforms such as Cisco AnyConnect to Palo Alto Networks GlobalProtect and Prisma Access.
• Configure and troubleshoot next-generation firewalls (NGFW), security policies, VPN tunnels, routing, and network connectivity across enterprise environments.
• Implement and troubleshoot networking technologies, including BGP, static routing, NAT, IPsec VPNs, and DNS, to ensure secure and reliable connectivity.
• Work directly with enterprise customers and engineering teams to understand existing network architectures, identify technical requirements, and deliver effective security solutions.
• Investigate and resolve complex connectivity issues involving remote users, internal applications, authentication, firewall policies, and network traffic.
• Support deployment planning, testing, production cutovers, maintenance windows, and ongoing optimization of network security solutions.
• Provide technical guidance, documentation, and knowledge transfer to help customers manage and maintain their security environments.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in enterprise networking, network security, firewall engineering, or related infrastructure roles.
• Hands-on experience implementing, configuring, and troubleshooting enterprise firewalls and VPN solutions.
• Experience with Palo Alto Networks technologies, including Prisma Access, PAN-OS, Panorama, and GlobalProtect, is preferred.
• Strong understanding of enterprise networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, BGP, static routing, NAT, IPsec VPNs, and DNS.
• Experience with firewall deployments, network security migrations, remote-access solutions, or large-scale enterprise infrastructure implementations.
• Familiarity with SASE, ZTNA, and cloud-delivered network security solutions.
• Experience with competing technologies such as Cisco, Fortinet, Check Point, Zscaler, or Netskope may be considered.
• Strong communication and customer-facing skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts, troubleshoot issues, and collaborate with enterprise engineering teams.
• Ability to work onsite 3 days in person 2 remote in Denver, CO, and participate in occasional after-hours maintenance, on-call support, or travel as required.

Compensation:

Salary Range: $130,000–$139,000 annualized, based on experience.
