Estimator / Operations Coordinator

O?ahu, Hawaii Full-Time | Salaried Position Sunrise Asphalt Services is a growing O?ahu-based asphalt and sport court contractor seeking a motivated, dependable individual to join our team as an Estimator / Operations Coordinator . We specialize in asphalt paving and maintenance, sealcoating, asphalt repairs, and sport court construction and resurfacing for commercial properties, HOAs, schools, general contractors, and other organizations throughout O?ahu. We want someone who can learn our business, earn the trust of our crews and customers, and gradually take ownership of important parts of our estimating and day-to-day operations. You will work directly with the owner and assist with both estimating and operations, including: Conducting jobsite visits and evaluating project conditions Measuring asphalt, concrete, sealcoating, and sport court work Assisting with proposals and project scopes Communicating with customers, property managers, general contractors, suppliers, and subcontractors Helping coordinate project schedules, materials, equipment, and crews Performing pre-job site visits and identifying potential problems before work begins Assisting with project handoffs from estimating to production Checking active projects and helping keep work organized and on schedule Tracking changes in scope and additional work Helping improve estimating, scheduling, and operating systems as the company grows The right person will spend time learning how we estimate, build, schedule, and execute our projects. Comfortable working both in the field and in an office environment Able to communicate professionally with customers and crews Comfortable using computers, email, spreadsheets, plans, and estimating software Willing to learn construction estimating and field operations Respectful of experienced field employees and willing to earn their trust Interested in building a career rather than simply filling a position Experience with asphalt paving, civil/site work, concrete, estimating, project coordination, or construction management is a major plus. Initially, you will work closely with the owner to learn our estimating process, customers, crews, equipment, suppliers, and projects. As you become proficient, you will take increasing responsibility for site visits, estimating, scheduling, project preparation, and coordination. Our goal is for this person to eventually become someone the company can rely on to help keep projects moving without the owner having to personally handle every detail. There is substantial room for increased responsibility and compensation for someone who proves they can take ownership and help the company operate successfully. Sunrise Asphalt Services is a locally owned O?ahu contractor specializing in two primary divisions: Asphalt Paving & Maintenance Asphalt paving and reconstruction Concrete and drainage-related work We take pride in providing high-quality work, maintaining strong customer relationships, and doing what we say we're going to do. We want to build an organized, dependable company that produces quality work, takes care of its employees and customers, and operates at a sustainable pace. Primarily Monday–Friday, with occasional early mornings or Saturdays depending on project requirements. Projects throughout O?ahu.
