Location: CONUS – Washington, DC (Mid‑Atlantic region)
Employment: Full‑time, Exempt
JOB OVERVIEW
Provide services and support as a Nuclear Design Inspections (EHS Officer) in the Nuclear and Environmental Management sector, focusing on risk management solutions for the U.S. NRC – HQ Acquisition Management Division.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Ensure environmental health and safety compliance during inspections.
- Develop and maintain safety protocols, procedures, and training programs.
- Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments; identify and address hazards.
- Implement emergency response preparedness plans.
- Stay current on evolving regulations and guidelines.
- Collaborate with teams to address safety concerns and maintain secure environments.
- Provide recommendations to enhance safety measures and promote sustainability.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 5 years of experience in environmental health and safety, especially in the nuclear industry.
- Background in environmental health and safety with relevant technical or nuclear context.
- U.S. citizenship required.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strategic thinking and analytical abilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, Publisher) and Adobe tools.
- Ability to multi‑task and pay close attention to detail.
- Safety protocol development and training expertise.
