Engineering Technician / Electrical AssemblyThe Product Integration Group of L3Harris in Rochester, New York, is looking for an Experienced Electrical Technician. This position will perform a variety of operations including the assembly and integration of complex electromechanical space flight components. This role involves working directly with engineers on the design and development of new and existing products, to optimize design for manufacturability.
Needs to be proficient in cable and harness builds, as well as soldering of components.Essential Functions:Perform work in manufacturing and/or prototyping environmentRead engineering drawings/blue prints/schematics and detailed work instructionsMaintain accurate records and manufacturing documentationSpeak clearly and concisely, presenting ideas effectively to individuals or groupsIdentify problems and suggest solutionsDemonstrate appropriate computer knowledgeUnderstand and adhere to established policies, procedures, and proper labor charging practicesPerform as an individual contributor as well as within a team environmentMust be mechanically inclined with ability to work with very fragile electronic assemblies under a microscopeWillingness to work overtime, shift work, weekends, holidays and some travelAbility to obtain US Government security clearanceQualifications:Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience; Or, or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with 0 to 2 years of prior related experienceMust be able to be certified to all IPC, JSTD, or comparable NASA certificationsPreferred Additional Skills:Associates Degree or above in electronics/electrical fieldExperience in an Electrical/Mechanical/Optical disciplineCurrently certified to IPC, JSTD, or comparable NASA certificationsLean Manufacturing practicesAerospace or Defense industry experienceIn compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in New York state is $45,000-$84,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
