A recognized services organization in Washington is seeking a new Engineering Operations Technician for a great opportunity in the Northern Virginia area. This position supports the operation and maintenance of critical mechanical and electrical systems in a fast-paced data center environment.
About the Opportunity:
- Shift: Day
- Schedule: Rotating 3 to 4 day work weeks
- Hours: 12-hour shifts
- Setting: Data center
- Operate and maintain mechanical and electrical equipment within the data center
- Perform troubleshooting and root cause analysis for facility and equipment issues
- Complete limited preventive maintenance tasks, including filter changes, battery system PMs, and rack-level component replacements
- Take daily operational readings, support metrics reporting, and complete required documentation
- Use internal CMMS tools, Excel, work authorizations, and work orders to manage workflows and administrative tasks
- At least 2 years of relevant work experience
- Technical training through military or trade school, or equivalent relevant experience
- Experience working in a data center or other critical environment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Solid leadership and organizational skills
- Experience with building automation systems
- Familiarity with generators, switchgear, UPS units, PDUs, AHUs, chillers, cooling towers, pumps, motors, and VFDs
- Exposure to CMMS platforms and operational reporting tools
