Emergency Physician

Danbury Hospital, part of Nuvance Health, is seeking a per diem Emergency Physician to primarily serve at its Danbury, CT location, approximately 70 miles northeast of New York City. This role involves providing a variety of clinical medical services, including evaluation and management, to patients in the hospital's emergency department. The ideal candidate will join a collegial and stable team, contributing to a Level II Trauma Center that treats approximately 70,000 patients annually.

• Primarily based at Danbury Hospital in Danbury, CT.
• Danbury Hospital's Emergency Department is an accredited Level II Trauma Center, a Stroke Center, and a Chest Pain Center.
• The Emergency Department offers 24-hour interventional cardiology.
• Treats about 70,000 patients annually, with approximately 900 trauma cases.
• The team consists of 22 physicians and 14 physician assistants providing 24/7 coverage at both Danbury Hospital and New Milford Hospital.
• Danbury Hospital is a teaching hospital associated with University of Vermont College of Medicine, Yale University School of Medicine, Ross University School of Medicine, and the American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine.

Responsibilities

• Provide a variety of clinical medical services to patients presenting to the Hospital's emergency department, including evaluation and management.

Compensation

• Highly competitive hourly rate
• Salary: $225-$250/hr depending upon shift

• Per diem
• Willing to work about 2 variable shifts per month as needed

Requirements

• MD or DO with successful completion of Emergency Medicine Residency
• CT State license, CSR and Federal Narcotic Use Registration (DEA)
• New Emergency Medicine Residency Graduates are encouraged to apply if considering a full-time position with us in the future
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine
• Willing to work about 2 variable shifts per month as needed
• Current ACLS/ATLS/PALS required
