Frederick Health Hospital is seeking an Emergency Medicine Medical Director to join their team in Frederick, Maryland. This role offers an opportunity to lead a collaborative team of physicians and APPs, contributing to efficient patient care in a high-volume ED. Practice Info

  • Join a team of 24 physicians and 18 APPs at Frederick Health Hospital.
  • Collaborate with Sound Physicians' hospitalist, observation, pediatric, and critical care teams.
  • The ED is ranked as the 3rd busiest in Maryland, caring for approximately 80,000 annual visits (65,000+ adult visits).
  • Recognized as a State Top Performer in EMS offload time.
  • Practice in a Magnet-designated hospital with fully staffed nursing, including 3:1 RN ratios in high-acuity areas.
  • High-acuity environment with a 30% admission/transfer rate at a designated STEMI Center and Primary Stroke Center, featuring ED MRI capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a close-knit team of 24 physicians and 18 APPs at Frederick Health Hospital.
  • Teach PA-C students from Shenandoah, Frostburg, and other local programs.
  • Provide comprehensive ancillary services in the ED, including peer recovery, ED pharmacists, crisis intervention, social work, Goals of Care hospice, and case management.
  • Access robust clinical resources such as point-of-care ultrasound, an ED pharmacist, and dedicated social work/case management support.

Compensation

  • W2 rates with productivity incentive equivalent to $225-$295/hour days; $240+/hour nights.

Shift & Schedule

Requirements

  • Board-certified in emergency medicine.
  • At least 2 years of leadership experience preferred.
  • Authorized to work in the United States.
