By leveraging modular design, manufacturing scale, efficient drilling, and latent cooling on the seafloor, we are pioneering a new category of energy that outperforms traditional sources on both environmental impact and cost.What You'll Be DoingAs an Electronics Specialist at Endurance Energy, you will work alongside electrical and firmware engineers to design, build, debug, and maintain the electrical systems that power our test infrastructure and offshore deployments.You will be responsible for building high-quality harnesses, assembling and wiring PLC and power cabinets, performing PCBA rework and debugging, and ensuring our lab operates at a professional, high-performance standard.You are expected to take full ownership of the electronics lab: organization, tooling, standards, and capability expansion. You should have strong opinions on how things should be built and continuously push the team toward higher quality and faster execution.This is a critical position where your craftsmanship, speed, and judgment directly impact our ability to execute hardware milestones on aggressive timelines.Key ResponsibilitiesBuild high-reliability wiring harnesses for test systems and subsea deploymentsAssemble, wire, and debug PLC cabinets and electrical control panels for test infrastructurePerform precision soldering, PCBA rework, and board-level debuggingSupport bring-up and debugging of electrical systems alongside engineersRead and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and system layoutsSelect connectors, wire types, shielding, and routing strategies appropriate for harsh environmentsImplement best practices for grounding, EMI mitigation, and signal integrityMaintain and enforce high standards for harnessing, labeling, documentation, and workmanshipOwn the electronics lab: organization, cleanliness, inventory, and tool readinessIdentify gaps in capability and drive procurement of new tools, test equipment, and infrastructureSupport rapid prototyping and test readiness under tight timelinesDocument builds, issues, and fixes clearly for engineering and QA traceabilityTroubleshoot electrical issues across test systems and deployed hardwareContribute to safe electrical practices across the lab and test environmentsQualifications5+ years of hands-on experience as an electronics technician, electrical technician, or similar roleDemonstrated experience building and troubleshooting complex wiring harnesses and electrical systemsStrong soldering skills including fine-pitch work and PCBA reworkExperience assembling and wiring control panels, PLC cabinets, or industrial electrical systemsAbility to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagramsDeep practical understanding of connectors, crimping, shielding, grounding, and cable managementExperience debugging electrical systems using oscilloscopes, multimeters, and other lab equipmentStrong craftsmanship and attention to detail in physical buildsTrack record of maintaining a clean, organized, and high-functioning lab environmentHigh ownership mindset and ability to operate independently with minimal supervisionComfortable working in a fast-paced, prototype-driven environment where designs evolve rapidlyStrong communication skills and ability to work closely with engineersPreferred SkillsExperience with subsea, marine, aerospace, or other harsh-environment systemsBackground as an electrician or experience with high-power electrical systemsFamiliarity with industrial controls, sensors, and data acquisition systemsExperience with EMI/EMC best practices and debuggingAbility to perform basic mechanical fabrication to support electrical buildsExperience setting up and scaling electronics lab infrastructure from scratchFamiliarity with standards for labeling, documentation, and traceability in high-reliability systemsBenefits & PerksGlobal Fieldwork: Travel to fascinating deployment sites along oceanic ridges in locations like the Pacific Northwest, Hawaii, Iceland, Japan, New Zealand, and the AzoresHands-on Experience: Participate in sea trials and deployment operations in partnership with leading oceanographic institutionsCutting-edge Development: Work with technology that spans high-power electronics, marine systems, and clean energyImpactful Work: Help solve one of the world's most pressing challengesCompetitive Compensation: Comprehensive salary and equity packagesBenefits: Vision, Dental, Health insurance coverageDive Certification: Company-sponsored recreational dive certification
