Electronics EngineerThe 1st Electronics Engineer performs duties as directed by the Chief Electrical Engineer.

The role involves maintenance and repair of specified electrical and electronic equipment and installations onboard.Responsibilities:Uphold the company's environmental policies, working with superiors and subordinates to ensure compliance; immediately report any malfunction of environmental systems.Train and mentor Electrical Engineers and Assistant Electrical Engineers.Perform additional routines and tasks assigned by the Chief Electrical Engineer.Request additional workforce from the Chief Electrical Engineer as needed for repairs and maintenance.Keep the Chief Electrical Engineer verbally informed daily about the status of all areas of responsibility.Maintain a detailed work report book, updated daily, and keep it in the Chief Electrical Engineer's office for reference.Assist the Chief Electrical Engineer in preparing the Division's budget proposals.Follow specific job descriptions provided in writing by the Chief Electrical Engineer, which are filed in the ship's SOP.Maintenance Areas & Equipment Responsibilities:Navigation Equipment, including coordination with service providers and contractorsDaily communication with Navigation Officers regarding bridge equipment status and responding to "electrical fault" log entriesTelephone exchanges and related equipment (sets, pagers)All UPS systems and batteries (excluding emergency lighting UPS)Camera Surveillance SystemPublic Address SystemTraining of Electrical and Assistant Electrical EngineersMaintain and update daily work reports in the Chief Electrical Engineer's officeAssist the Chief Electrical Engineer and Technical Storekeeper with the Division's budget proposalsAdditional routines and work as assigned by the Chief Electrical EngineerQualifications & Training:Education as Electrical or Electronic EngineerWell-documented experience with marine electronics installationsBasic Safety Training in accordance with STCWAdvanced Fire Fighting Training Course per STCWComputer literacy, including familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.)Preferred Qualifications:Bachelor of Science in Electrical/Electronic Engineering (or equivalent 4-year university degree)Experience on cruise ships or large passenger vesselsFamiliarity with:AMOS Maintenance SystemsCommunication SystemsComputer NetworksIntegrated Alarm, Monitoring, and Control SystemsNavigation EquipmentPower ElectronicsLanguage Requirements:Ability to speak English clearly, distinctly, and cordially with guestsProficiency in reading and writing English to interpret proceduresAbility to give and receive instructions effectively in both written and verbal formsCapable of effectively presenting information and responding to questions from guests, supervisors, and colleaguesPhysical Requirements:Regularly required to stand, walk, handle tools, reach, talk, hear, and taste/smellOccasionally/frequently/continually lift and/or move up to 50 poundsSpecific vision abilities include close, distance, colour, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustmentThe company:Royal Caribbean Group (NYSE: RCL) is a cruise vacation company comprised of three award-winning global brands: Royal Caribbean International, Celebrity Cruises, and Silversea Cruises.
