Electronic Quality EngineerA well-established electronics manufacturing organization in the Rochester area is seeking an Electronic Quality Engineer to support quality initiatives across PCB assembly, electronic manufacturing, and electro-mechanical production environments. This individual will work closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Production teams to ensure products meet customer, regulatory, and internal quality standards throughout the manufacturing lifecycle.This is a strong opportunity for someone looking to grow within a collaborative, hands-on manufacturing environment supporting high-mix, high-reliability electronic products.ResponsibilitiesSupport quality processes across PCB assemblies, SMT, thru-hole, cable/wire harness, and electro-mechanical manufacturing operationsInvestigate manufacturing defects, non-conformances, and customer issues through root cause analysis and corrective action processesParticipate in CAPA, NCR, MRB, and continuous improvement initiativesDevelop and maintain quality documentation including inspection procedures, work instructions, and process documentationPartner closely with Manufacturing and Engineering teams to improve product quality, reduce defects, and support production efficiencyAssist with internal audits, customer quality requirements, and ISO-related quality activitiesAnalyze quality metrics, defect trends, scrap, and process performance dataSupport supplier quality and incoming inspection activitiesAssist with first article inspections, validation efforts, and new product introduction activitiesEnsure compliance with IPC standards and electronic manufacturing quality practicesQualificationsBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related technical field preferred3+ years of experience within electronics manufacturing, PCB assembly, EMS, or electro-mechanical manufacturing environmentsExperience supporting quality systems within ISO-regulated manufacturing environmentsFamiliarity with SMT manufacturing, PCB assembly processes, soldering standards, and electronic inspection methodsExperience with root cause analysis methodologies such as CAPA, 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone, SPC, or Lean/Six Sigma toolsKnowledge of IPC standards preferred (IPC-A-610, J-STD-001, IPC/WHMA-A-620)Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skillsAbility to work cross-functionally with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Production teamsPreferred ExperienceExperience within medical device, aerospace, defense, industrial, or high-reliability manufacturing environmentsExposure to AOI, X-Ray inspection systems, or functional electronic testingLean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma experienceERP/MRP or manufacturing quality systems exposure
