Today SpaceX is actively developing the technologies to make this possible, with the ultimate goal of enabling human life on Mars.ELECTROMECHANICAL TECHNICIAN (STARSHIELD) Starshield leverages SpaceX's Starlink technology and launch capability to support national security efforts. While Starlink is designed for consumer and commercial use, Starshield is designed for government use, with an initial focus on three areas: Earth observation, communications, and hosted payloads. Designed to meet diverse mission requirements, Starshield satellites are capable of integrating a wide variety of payloads, offering unique versatility to users. With the proven ability to iterate rapidly, SpaceX's unique full-stack approach in developing end-to-end systems, from launch vehicles to user terminals, enables the deployment of capabilities at scale with unprecedented speed.

Starshield's proliferated low-Earth orbit architecture provides inherent resiliency and constant connectivity to on-orbit assets, while SpaceX's proven rapid launch capability provides expedient and economical access to space.RESPONSIBILITIES:Fabricate and assemble high-quality, high-reliability electromechanical assembliesSelf-monitor work progress against area benchmarks and achieve on-time delivery of all workRead, interpret, and work from drawings as well as from controlled documentation and processes such as:Mechanical drawings, standard dimensioning and tolerancing, and GD&TAssembly procedures and work instructionsRecord work performed on shop floor management system (ERP) as well as use e-mail (MS Outlook)Perform verification of flight hardware and document results in a clear, precise, and complete mannerAssist with the development of production processes for first-time production runsAssist with area efficiency improvement projectsRun tests in HASS/HALT and thermal chambersSelf-identify quality issues from workmanship, vendor supplied defects, and design issuesBASIC QUALIFICATIONS:High school diploma or equivalency certificate1+ years of experience using mechanical hand toolsPREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:Associate degree2+ years of professional experience with wire harnesses and/or electronics equipmentExperience in fast-paced production environment working with flight hardwareExperience in a high production environment with hands on experience fabricating harness, electro-mechanical assemblies, or prototype developmentAbility to adapt to constant changing work assignments and fast paced work environmentExcellent communication (written and verbal) and teamwork skillsExcellent concentration and attention to detail with outstanding work efficiency and accuracyADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:Must be willing to work all shifts, overtime, and/or weekends as needed. Estimated start times: 1st shift (5am), 2nd shift (3pm)Standing for long periods of time, climbing up and down ladders, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, and stretching are generally required to perform the functions of this positionAbility to lift up to 25lbs, unassistedAbility to distinguish colorsThis position is based in Hawthorne, CA and requires being onsite - remote work not consideredCOMPENSATION AND BENEFITS: Pay Range: Level 1: $22 - $25 Level 2: $25 - $29 Level 3: $29 - $35Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX.
